I have to say, as a regular visitor to East Cowes seafront, how normal and natural it was to see Ellen MacArthur as she breezed along for a photoshoot along the esplanade. She perhaps appreciates her privacy being respected and we (the general public) remain unphased at seeing her out and about around the town. How normal is that!

Hi Jane, I think Arron porbably means probably! In common with other supporters of the cafe , Janet , Juliette and Chris (It's macaroni, Chris), spelling seems to be a problem!

Surprised you could spare the time to read bull shit poems Arron, let alone leave a comment. The title of the post is BAD SERVICE at Island cafe and relates to the response of the manager to the situation. The charm of the internet is free speech, if you don't like it, you're not obliged to read my blog!

It was on the blackboard, which we took to be the specials of the day, though wasn't specifically described as homemade. Whether it was or not does not excuse the rudeness we encountered.

Engage brain Janet, yes I like free music, no I didn't buy any tickets from the Jazz Festival organisers, but I did provide the Mill Bay Inn with my custom and had the pleasure of meeting Babs, promoter of Third Man, who was also very happy with the exposure that the band got from the gig. I also think it is appalling if artistes don't get paid. I assume the reference to not paying for meals ordered is in relation to my post entitled 'Bad service at Island Cafe', I'd hate you to be slurring the reputation of any venues associated with the Jazz Festival by raising it in relation to this item.

Are you two twins or something? Or is it just a coincidence that you've come up with the same comment?

Anyway, a hearty welcome to the blog, hope you both continue to visit cafes you like, I prefer mine with a little more humility. Working in the catering trade myself, I would certainly not be rude to a customer nor expect them to pay for food which they returned as being unsatisfactory. Incidentally, the food that was returned was not home made but straight from a tin, as confirmed by the waitress who brought it to the table.

Looking forward to receiving one of your poems, Matt and Cat certainly enjoyed mine!

p.s. A cultural note, use your spell-checker, the word is reasonable.

I see that you have limited finances........and like to listen to free music, and not pay for meals you order.

I expect this is why you are happy to promote a Jazz Festival where the artists don't get paid.

Why don't you start a website with advice for people who like to get away with not having to pay for anything??

That's something you would be very good at?
