Hello, this is Mrs Wighteye reporting back (as promised) on the Big Green Picnic. Without knowing exactly what to expect my immediate impression was of marquees in rows divided by the pseudo-green of the carpet which was ofcourse pivotal to the whole event. There was a relaxed, light-hearted atmosphere, particularly when the music started, with [...]

Having previously attended ‘Shopping Trolley’ events showcasing the creativity of Ventnor based artists/musicians etc, I didn’t need much persuasion to attend ‘Rockpool’ at Ventnor Winter Gardens.  The venue is sadly lacking in good lighting, but this was made up for by several engaging ‘happenings’, including the hugely entertaining interactive music in the teepee ; I [...]

Family and work commitments unfortunately conspired to prevent me attending the Big Green Picnic, so Wighteye has been quizzing both Mrs Wighteye and Wighteye Jr who attended the event separately.  Jr thought it was “great fun” and his favourite activity was at the Medina Valley Centre’s Eco Challenger, where solar energy was being harvested to [...]

UFO

Wighteye’s Dad took this photo from Cowes yesterday, the UFO appeared to possibly have some link to the ship laying off of Cowes, sometimes it disappeared as far over as Castle Point in East Cowes.  Anyone got any idea what it could be?
Thanks Dad!

Three positives

1.   Well done, East Cowes Town Council, we now have a net for the tennis court at the seafront, watch out Fred Perry/Bjorn Borg/Boris Becker/Pete Sampras/Roger Federer  (delete according to your age/era)
2.   The fallen crane has been removed from the warehouse close to the power station
3.   The racist/fascist grafitti has been painted over (though I [...]
