Yes, it’s the Sex Pistols for the Festival next year, if you’ve ever seen the DVD of the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival and the response by some uptight Freshwater knobs, imagine what they would have made of Johnny Rotten & Co gracing our diamond isle!
Mind you, if there is any backlash, we only need [...]

How about Bruce Springsteen, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, Neil Young and Joe Walsh? Local band, The Bees would also be a popular choice. A guest appearance by Lou Reed [...]

Island Harbour is a hive of activity these days; what with the development of luxury waterside properties with their own moorings and an apparent revamp of the harbour facilities. Here we have the Meadow Road shops, on the Vectis Road estate in East Cowes. As you can see, Meadow Stores is shut and up for sale, the Post Office is also scheduled for closure. Again this largely affects the less privileged who will have a good 10-15 minute walk to get to alternative facilities, [...]

So who will the impending closure of Medina Post Office, York Road, Cowes affect?
1. Well, not all Cowes residents are wealthy and York Road is close to the Arctic Road area, typically older, smaller housing stock, meeting the needs of the relatively disadvantaged, the elderly and the small but growing ethnic communities of Cowes.
2. Local [...]
